SNOWSPEEDER PROP ADDS AN EMPIRE STRIKES BACK THEME FOR SUMMER HOLIDAYS FUN AT HARS AVIATION MUSEUM

Creator Paul Vezgoff has provided the Snowspeeder to be on show at HARS Aviation Museum all summer school holidays.

“The science of flight and imagination come together in a fascinating way when we explore how human creativity and technological innovation enable us to soar through the skies,” Paul said.

The Snowspeeder featured in a David V Goliath battle in the movie The Empire Strikes Back (1980).  This non-working static prop was created through detailed and thorough research. Real world everyday parts such as the aircraft latches on the cockpit.”

At HARS Aviation Museum the Snowspeeder will be located beside Catalina PBY Frigate Bird II which is on loan from the Powerhouse Museum while renovations are underway at its normal Ultimo home.

Pilot Sir P G “Bill” Taylor gave VH-ASA Frigate Bird II to Australia after he and his crew used it to make the first South Pacific flight from Australia to Chile and return in 1951.
