Come and join us for a full-filled day planned specially to coincide with International Day of Families, Monday 15 May (9am – 1pm) as we celebrate our 8th birthday with special activities, shows and workshops, all FREE after entry!

WHATON!

  • CreARTivity | 9:30am – 10:45am and 12;00pm to 1:00pm  | Can you design your own birthday badge that captures why you love the Discovery Space? Join our Educators in creARTivity to plan, create and make your own badge (don’t forget to take it home!)
  • What’s in the (birthday!) box? Join our Educators in the The Pod for open-ended play using HUNDREDS of cardboard boxes, inspired by the book ‘What to do with a Box’ by Jane Yolen. Is it a library, a palace, a robot or locked with a magical key? Childrens’ agency is at the forefront in this program where they control their physical play environment.
    • Session 1: 9:30am to 10:15
    • Session 2: 10:30am to 11:15
    • Session 3: 11:30am to 12:15 
  • STEAM Team | 11:30am – 12:30pm | Work together with your family in this STEAM challenge to design, make and test your very own flying machine in the Circle Garden.
  • Storytime | 11am | Join us as we read ‘The Gift of Nothing’ by Patrick McDonnell, that focuses on the most important gifts we can give each other – particularly on International Day of Families!
