Windang Island, formerly known as Peterborough Island, sits at the entrance to Lake Illawarra and is connected to Warilla Beach by a natural sand formation called a tombolo. This scenic spot is a favourite for exploring the rock platforms, where you can discover marine life like crabs, starfish and an array of seashells. This weekend is TARMAC Day where the planes will be on display for you to wander through at your own leisure. At all other times the museum is open for tours from 9am to 3.30pm (last tours at 2pm)
